The Pacific Palisades Residents Association hosted a debate between Traci Park and Allison Holdorff Polhill, candidates in the running to represent Los Angeles City Council District 11. Park shared that her call to action came in 2020 and 2021 as she watched her community of Venice fall into disarray with fires, homelessness and crime increasing. Polhill said she joined the race to address homelessness, public safety, fireside preparedness and the environment. “While I support LAPD’s effort to supplement their work force with mental health professionals … we’ve got to be mindful of fundamental public safety,” she said.
