Julie Sawaya Advocates for Much ‘Needed’ Change in Prenatal Nutrition Palisadian Julie Sawaya and Westside local Ryan Woodbury have spent the last few years making waves of change in maternal and infant health care. And although she applied to business school knowing she wanted to start a company in the women’s health and nutrition space, she said she didn’t have a clear vision for Needed until seeing these experiences herself. “We partnered with women’s nutrition and health practitioners who focus on this life stage and test women’s nutrient and hormone levels, day-in and day-out, to understand better what women actually need to be optimally well.” Sawaya said the team is excited to launch a clinical study later this year to demonstrate that women who are on a more minimalist prenatal, are not having their needs met.
