Cal State Fullerton’s women’s basketball team will advance to the second round of the Big West Conference Tournament after defeating Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, 70-64, at Dollar Loan Center in Henderson, Nevada, on Tuesday. Graduate forward, Carolyn Gill, who received the Big West’s Best Hustle Award, led her team on offense with a 16 point contribution. The Titans led most of the first half until the end of the second quarter, where the Mustangs found some rhythm to close the point gap and earn a one point lead, 29-28, going into the break. Cal Poly junior forward Julie Nielacna contributed 19 points.
