Golden West College, Cypress College, Pasadena City College and Orange Coast College have already implemented outdoor flea markets that bring in a variety of vendors and shoppers. “Vending has helped me through financial struggle and things of that nature, but then looking at the women that are in sweatshops, creating clothing that I'm wearing to go out in when I do make money from said flea markets,” Sanchez said. Flea markets help people make minor adjustments in their shopping practices, such as supporting a small business instead of going to the mall, which can have an impact on a community and on a more global scale as well. Like most colleges that host flea markets in their parking lots, Lot A at CSUF would be an ideal location for a flea market.
