​As per a 2021 report released by the World Health Organisation (WHO), 82.4 million people were newly infected with Gonorrhea in 2020. In its The Global Health Sector Strategy on STIs 2016-2021, the WHO had aimed to reduce gonorrhea by 90% by 2030.​
