When the Palisades Village Mall was announced, it seemed impractical to house businesses that the community would frequent. The situation also seemed likely to create a threat to the very survival of the existing businesses serving the community, not from competition for customers, but from rent inflation or outright denial to remain. The level of exclusivity of the tenants also raised concerns about being a potential target someday during social unrest. The Hermers are so cool for running a whole lemonade stand to help Ukraine refugees.
