Smurfit Kappa is in discussions to merge with U.S. rival WestRock <a href="https://www.reuters.com/markets/companies/WRK.N" target="_blank">(WRK.N)</a>, the Irish firm said on Thursday, in a tie-up of two of the world's largest paper and packaging producers.
